16 weeks

Well in the past 16 weeks we have been to three doctors appointments and Hunter has been at every one of them. (he doesn't plan on missing an appointment) The first was was the first time we got to hear and see our baby. It was so amazing to see that little peanut on the screen and see the heart flicker. We were able to hear the heart beat. We confirmed our due date for November 8th. It was a great visit.
The second visit at 12 weeks was much faster then the first. We got to hear the heartbeat and I was weighed and to my surprise I hadn't gained any weight yet. The heartbeat was strong around 160.
The third visit was at 16 weeks. I made it through the first trimester! I gained about 4 pounds and the heartbeat was in the 150s.
We bought a home doppler so we can hear the baby anytime since it is so hard waiting four weeks between appointments. We have our 20 week ultrasound on June 21 at 9:50am. We are so anxious and are counting down the days!

This pregnancy has been pretty good so far. I was nauseous for about 6 weeks but it has gotten better. I still have some moments of nausea but its not very often. I am still very tired and take a daily nap but I am waiting for the energy they say you have in the second trimester. I am really loving being pregnant and knowing I have our child growing in me. Hunter is so excited about this baby and has been taking great care of me.

Finding Out We Are Expecting

It all began when Hunter and my dad went to the Doak Walker Awards in Dallas. I drove them to the awards and waiting at a hotel across the street for them to call and let me know they were done. It was after 1am when they finally called and I picked them up. We dropped dad off at the hotel and headed home. After we dropped him off Hunter (who was drunk) told me he was taking me home to get me pregnant. I just laughed but I guess his  subconscious knew something I didn't.
About a week later I was craving green beans like crazy. I wanted them everyday any way I could think of. I just thought it was PMS and didn't think much of it. The one Tuesday night about a week later I was working on the elliptical and Hunter said your stomach looks different. I didn't take that to well since we had been dieting and I was actually losing weight. I thought maybe I am pregnant. I finished working out and while he worked out I took a pregnancy test from the dollar store. I didn't even wait to see the result and went in the next morning(Leap Day) to look at it. I thought  I saw something but knew it wasn't accurate this long after taking a test. I took another dollar store test while Hunter was getting ready for work. I thought I saw a line but it was hard to tell. I got ready and left for work but stopped by Wal-Mart and got a better test. I had already been feeling nauseous for about a week and thought I was getting the flu. That morning at work I was feeling really bad. I took the new test at my lunch break and before I even watched my hands the positive sign showed up.
I was so excited but didn't want to tell Hunter over the phone so I tired to avoid talking to him all day so I wouldn't spill the beans. I decided since it was his birthday tomorrow I would use that to tell him, but of course I couldn't wait until his birthday so I figured he would get his gift early. I went to the hunting store to pick up his present, a bow case and arrows. I decided I would attach the test to the arrows and put them in the bow case. I got everything ready and waiting and I get a call from Hunter that he is stuck in traffic. It took him much longer then normal to get home which made the wait even harder. When he finally got home I met him at the door and told him to close his eyes since his present wasn't wrapped and just sitting on the counter. I was trying to breathe calmly so he wouldn't notice I was shaking. I walked him in and he saw the bow case and opened it up. He was so excited he didn't even notice what was on the arrows at first. Then he looked down and stared at it really close. He said the first thing going through his mind was "why would she put a negative test on my present" I then said we are having a baby! He was very excited and shocked since it was a big surprise for both of us. We hugged and cried a little. We decided to take a walk to talk about it and let it sink it. He didn't quite believe it so we went and bought the digital test and took that and it said pregnant and took another one in the morning and it said pregnant. By the next day it had sunk in and we were excited and ready! We can't believe how much it has already changed our lives and we are so excited for this baby to arrive!
