Valentines Day 2013

We had a nice low key Valentine's Day. Bradley made daddy a poem with his foot prints on it. Hunter and I exchanged cards and enjoyed an evening in with our little family. We had Chinese food and watched some TV together. Nice and relaxing just like we like it. We love our little family so much!

3 months and Rolling Over

Bradley is growing fast! He had his first set of shots this month and only cried for a minute. He is a big boy but healthy. He eats 5-6oz of formula every three hours but sleeps 10-11 hours at night without waking up to eat. He goes to sleep without crying. I just lay him in his crib with music and he falls asleep within minutes. He is now rolling from his stomach to his back (see video) and loves to chew his fist. Its been three months but its still hard to believe we are parents to this perfect little boy.

Bradley Laughing

February 9,2013

Bradley laughed out loud today for the first time on the way to dinner at Clear Springs. It was so cute and I was able to catch it on tape. (Thank goodness for smart phones). He was laughing at a little frog that pulls down hanging from his car seat.

2 Months

During Bradley's second month we moved from Rockwall to Seguin. He was great during the move although he didn't enjoy not getting to be held as much while mommy and daddy packed. He also made the long drive to Mississippi to visit the Parten side of the family for Christmas. He did great and slept most of the drive. He left everyone hold him and was his usual happy self. I still can't believe this little miracle is ours.

He has lost his umbilical cord and circumcision ring and is now enjoying baths in the water. We are adjusted to waking every 2-3 hours to change and feed. Bradley's Arrival

I had been having some contractions for about a week and a few trips to the doctor but I was stuck at 3cm and showing no signs of real labor. We were walking A LOT to try and help things progress quicker but Bradley was happy where he was. We decided to just be patient
At 3:30am on November 1st my water broke. I felt a gush in bed like a peed my pants and woke Hunter up saying I think my water broke. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom where the water continued to pour out of me. Hunter took the sheets off of the bed and cleaned up the mess. Luckily we had a waterproof cover on the bed and I had been sleeping with a towel under me just in case. I then ran to my mom's room (she had come up to wait for his arrival) and let her know my water broke. I wasn't having strong contractions so we took our time packing up the car, ate some breakfast (I knew it would be awhile before I could eat again) and Hunter showered and got ready. We headed to the hospital around 5:30. Its only about a 10 minute drive. We checked in through the ER and I was wheeled back to the delivery room. They check me and I was still at 3cm but my water did break so I was there for the long run. I wasn't in much pain and wasnt progressing so they put me on potocin. That started making me feel contractions more. Around 8:30 the doctor came in and told me they were getting ready to do a c-section so if I didnt take the epidural now it would be awhile before before I could get one. I told her I would go ahead and get one to be safe. I was a little scared about too much pain since they were already getting painful. I got the epiduroal and to my surprise it didnt even hurt getting it. I then was stuck in bed but was much more comfortable. I started progressing and around 1:30 I was ready to push. I pushed for about a hour and a half and even with the nurse and doctor trying everything to assist Bradley out his head was stuck sideways behind my pelvis and he was not budging. The doctor decided I need a c-section.
They brought Hunter his scrubs and gave me a different medication for the surgery. I was then wheeled back to surgery while Hunter waited to come join me. Once Hunter was in the room the surgery began and Bradley arrived. He didn't cry at first so the took his straight to the warming table. It seemed like to took forever to hear those first cries but I am sure it was only seconds. Hunter was able to walk over and get pictures while they were weighing and getting his footprints. I was shaking uncontrollably from the medications. After at least 10 minutes they finally brought Bradley over and I got to see him. He was perfect and I loved seeing him in his daddy's arms but hated I couldn't hold him in the first few minutes of life.
My parents, Patti, and Ed were there to meet Bradley when we got out of surgery. I finally got to hold him once back in the room although it was only for a minute because I was shaking so bad and had a high fever. We then got to spend the first night with our baby. It was great! He wasn't wanting to breast fed and his sugar levels were dropping so we had to supplement with some formula to help his sugar levels and jaundice. We finally got to go home on Sunday afternoon and start our new life as a family of 3.

The Last 20 Weeks (a little less)

The last twenty weeks of pregnancy were pretty uneventful. We had a few more ultra sounds. The first one was to see if my low lying placenta had moved higher and it did which was great news. We then had a second 3D ultra sound to get a better look at our little boy. The last ultra sound was at 38 weeks to check on his size since they were predicting a big baby.
We did loads of baby laundry, finished up his room and anxiously awaited his arrival. I had sore feet the last 10-12 weeks of pregnancy and nothing seemed to help. I would soak my feet and get some foot rubs from Hunter.
We had two great baby showers. One in Illinois with my family and one at my school from my co-workers. We were so blessed with many gifts for our sweet baby boy! Thank you everyone!
I started having some contractions around 38 weeks. They weren't painful but were making us more anxious to have him. I had a few trips to the doctor thinking something was happening but nothing. ( I now know true labor contractions feel much different then what I was feeling).
